ISYS Search Software Selected for
Austrade High Tech Tour
Italy and France, 11 - 15 November 2002
ISYS Search Software has won a place on the Austrade High
Tech Tour to Italy and France this November. Together with nine other
Australian companies, ISYS was selected from 153 entrants across the country.
Sponsored by the Department of Communications, Information
Technology and the Arts, Icon Recruitment and Sun Microsystems, the Euro
High Tech Tour offers an intensive and all encompassing learning experience
for companies wishing to fast track their business into Europe.
The trip is an all-expenses paid, hands-on, five day immersive
business program in Italy and France from 11- 15 November 2002. The overseas
program has been organized by Austrade Milan and Austrade Paris.
"We are very excited at this opportunity to learn more
about the European market," said Managing Director, Ian Davies. "With
ISYS's UK office less than two years old, it is the perfect time to learn
more about these markets and make good contacts within the ITC industry."
The 10 winners will visit Italy and France, gaining on-the-ground
intelligence, first-hand knowledge of how to conduct business in Europe,
advice on launching into the world's largest group of integrated high-tech
markets, and an audience with industry leaders.
"It's fantastic to see such an impressive bunch of
high tech companies - the standard in this year's competition is very
strong," said Austrade's Regional Team leader, ICT Europe, Mr Tim
'Connor.
Today, France ranks fourth worldwide in the ITC industry.
Together, information technology and telecommunications represent about
10 percent of French manufacturing industry, employing more than 270,000
people and accounting for more than 5 percent of French GDP. With a 5.5%
growth rate recorded for the French IT market in 2001, it is estimated
that this growth will continue with expected growth rates of 5.9% and
9.3% in 2002 and 2003 respectively.
Italy is Europe's fourth largest ITC market after Germany,
UK, and France but the sector is yet to mature and thus has considerable
potential for Australian companies involved in developing and exporting
ICT solutions.
"Austrade has been an excellent ally in all our
export efforts," said Mr Davies. "They are so well organized
and all of their programmes offer great value. We look forward to taking
full advantage of this new opportunity."
