Tourism
Australia selects ISYS Search Software for australia.com
Multilingual marketing
site now using search facility
SYDNEY
- 25th October, 2004 - ISYS Search Software (www.isys-search.com),
a global supplier of search software for businesses and public sector
organizations, today announced that Australia's tourism marketing agency,
Tourism Australia, has implemented ISYS Search Software to deliver a user-friendly
search function across all editions of its consumer and media website,
australia.com.
Implemented by ISYS
integration partner Intology, the new ISYS search functionality is designed
to access a wide range of content and provide more targeted responses
to search queries. Multi-lingual search support is a key component of
the solution, as australia.com is published in 10 languages, including
some that use double-byte Asian character sets.
The search project
was a high-profile undertaking, involving a comprehensive, competitive
vendor evaluation and selection process. The australia.com site
is offered in a choice of over 60 tailored language/country combinations
and is the primary platform for information delivery for Tourism Australia
marketing campaigns around the world, featuring motivational destination
information to inspire prospective travellers to visit Australia. At the
same time, around 20,000 tourism-based businesses across Australia use
australia.com as a source of promotion.
"Search is a
vital piece of functionality for the australia.com site because
we have so many stakeholders, including those who rely on the site for
information to plan their trip as well as businesses whose products are
featured on the site," said Graham Middleton, Acting Director Marketing
Operations at Tourism Australia. "We needed to invest in both technology
and implementation expertise in order to get the right outcome."
"We're obviously
delighted to have been selected as the search engine for australia.com,"
says Sydney-based founder and Managing Director Ian Davies. "It's
a sign of Australian achievement that not only can we offer tourists a
wide range of fascinating, unique destination information via australia.com,
but also that they can use an Australian-made technology to quickly search
and retrieve information on these places."
