Happy New Year, and welcome to the February 2005 issue of ISYS Update. The coming year will be one of the most exciting in ISYS' long history, but you'll have to wait until the next newsletter for all the details. In the meantime, we hope you'll learn a thing or two as we take a look at Microdec and its integration of ISYS into its Profile 2000 recruitment software. We'll also provide you with some beneficial tips on how to chain and search multiple indexes.
And last but not least, we would like to invite you to download and read our new white paper on Desktop Search. There's an abundance of hype in the market right now, and our new paper helps set the record straight on what works in the enterprise and what doesn't. |

If you've been reading technology news over the last six months, then you're likely familiar with all the Desktop Search buzz. ISYS users know that desktop search is nothing new, but the slew of new products has produced a considerable amount of confusion.
While the new breed of desktop search appears to address the basic needs of the average consumer, the lack of satisfactory security and comprehensive features has industry analysts cautioning businesses against using these tools. In this issue of ISYS Update, we invite our readers to download our new paper -- Everything You Don't Know About Desktop Search. In addition to helping you better understand the difference between consumer-oriented and business-centric desktop search, the paper offers a checklist that outlines what you should look for in enterprise-focused desktop search.

| With ISYS, you can create as many indexes as you like. You might prefer one large index that contains all the files, emails, database entries and other documents that you want to search across, but there are advantages to breaking it down into smaller ‘chunks’. Find

A sharpshooter hung up his hat and put on a blindfold. He then walked 100 yards, turned around, and shot a bullet through his hat. The blindfold was a perfectly good one, completely blocking the man's vision.
How did he manage this feat?
